The process

Step 1 The preparation

Our transports begin with thorough preparation. In prior contact, we will work with you to ensure that your horse is ready for transport. The necessary documents must be present and we will give you some tips and tricks for preparing your horse.
We also ensure that the vehicles are in top condition, meet all safety standards and that the equipment is complete. We will contact you as soon as our vehicle leaves for your location.

Step 3 The journey

During the trip, your horse is under constant supervision. Our experienced drivers consider factors such as temperature and travel time to pursue a stress-reduced transportation experience.
To distract your horse from potential stress and maintain optimal intestinal function, we make sure your horse always has adequate access to roughage from a hay net.
In addition, we stop regularly, at least every 4.5 hours, to keep a close eye on your horse and offer fresh water. After every 18 hours of travel, your horse goes into the stable for rest.
During travel, we keep track of what your horse eats, drinks and, if applicable, note any notable behaviors. In fact, this information can help you during your horse’s post-transportation follow-up care

Step 5 Aftercare

Afterwards, it is important to keep a close eye on your horse and replenish any deficiencies that may have occurred. If your horse has been heavily transpiring, it is important to offer electrolytes from a bucket, but do not give if not.

Keep in mind that after long transportation, your horse may be tired and/or lose weight and may have decreased resistance. In fact, stress causes rise in stress hormone cortisol which will suppress the horse’s immunity leading to decreased resistance.
